Dream Becomes Reality for Trinity Lutheran School

Trinity Lutheran School of Cape Girardeau, located at 55 N. Pacific, dedicated their new Pre-Kindergarten classroom on Sunday September 18th. This project had been on the "Wish List" for several years and consisted of moving the existing Pre-Kindergarten room from the 3rd floor of the building to the 1st floor. The goal was to make the classroom more accessible for the young students and parents, according to Pre-Kindergarten teacher Lori Zieba. The dream became reality when a generous member of the local business community stepped forward and offered to pay for the architectural design for the new space. With plans in hand, volunteers stepped forward and offered to build the new room as soon as funds became available. Hearing that funds were needed, the Trinity Lutheran Church Men's Club and Trinity Lutheran School Parent Teacher League were the first to step forward, followed by donations from the school auction fund and Scrip Program. With funds in hand the volunteers began renovations of the existing Assembly room. After many long nights and weekends the Assembly room was divided into two new spaces, the Pre-Kindergarten room and a smaller Assembly room used for before-school care and for after school activities like Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and small gatherings. Special thanks go out to all the volunteers who made this project possible. Over 90 percent of the labor was donated, which led to the project being well under budget. This project is a perfect example of how a dream can become a reality, it just takes one generous person to step forward to make big things happen.

Trinity Lutheran School provides a Christian learning environment for students from Pre-K through 8th grade.
