State designates Cape County zone for business tax abatement

The Missouri Department of Economic Development recently approved an Enhanced Enterprise Zone designation for Cape Girardeau County. New and expanding businesses in Enhanced Enterprise Zone designated areas are eligible for state income tax credits and local property tax abatements. To qualify for an Enhanced Enterprise Zone designation, areas must meet certain unemployment and poverty level guidelines. In Missouri, 107 of 114 counties already have Enhanced Enterprise Zone designations.
