Letter to the Editor

The shovel-ready presidency

The American people can now say we've inherited the worst presidency since the Great Depression.

Recently in North Carolina, Obama's plea for support was actually pathetic. "If you love me, you've got to help me pass this bill." Even leading Democratic Senators such as Bob Casey, Mary Landrieu, and Joe Manchin have rejected Obama's "jobs bill." (1)

Seventy-two percent of Americans think our country is on the wrong track. (2)

Our national debt is growing at $3 million a minute. Our federal deficit has increased $4.247 trillion in just 945 days, the fastest under any president ever. (3)

Obama's approval rating has dropped to 39 percent. (4)

Our country has fallen to fifth place in the global ranking of the world's most competitive economies. (5)

The August unemployment report showed zero new jobs added for the entire nation.

Obama has created 3,545 new "green jobs" but at a cost of $5.4 million per job. (6)

The centerpiece of Obama's legislative accomplishments, ObamaCare, was declared unconstitutional by Florida's U.S. District Judge, Roger Vinson. He said, "The entire act must be declared void. Congress exceeded the bounds of its authority."

This administration makes Nixon and Carter look like schoolboys, as they fight three separate scandals: "Fast and Furious," "Solyndra" and "Lightsquared."

Our "Nobel Peace Prize" winner even took us into a third war. According to the Pentagon, through July 31st, it has cost us $896 million. (7)

Democrats can't defend the indefensible. The sign on the White House lawn reads, "Citizens' foreclosure. Ready for new occupancy January 2013."
