Free Seminar on Heart Health and ED

One in five men in the U.S. suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED). Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S. Since ED can be a symptom of underlying cardiovascular disease, urologist Vincenzo Galati, DO, and cardiologist David A. Law, MD, FACC, FSCAI, both on staff at Saint Francis Medical Center, are holding a community education event on September 22 at 6 pm to talk about the relationship between ED and cardiovascular disease and how men can reduce their heart event risk.

A significant portion of men older than 50 are affected by ED, which usually precedes angina (chest pain) by two to three years and adverse heart events by three to five years. It is important for men to be aware of their health risks and consult their physician if they experience ED or think they may be at risk for heart disease.

Dr. Galati and Dr. Law will also discuss:

*Causes of ED
*Effective treatments for ED
*Risk factors for heart disease
*How heart disease can be detected early
*Cardiac risk and sexual activity

Refreshments will be served at the event, to be held in the Saint Francis Conference Center, 211 Saint Francis Drive, Fountain Lobby Entrance 1. For more information or to register, please call 573-331-5877 or e-mail jstreiler@sfmc.net.
