Founder of WarChild RG; David "P-Nut" Grimes passed from this earth five years ago today. May he Rest In Peace, July 07, 1960 to September 16, 2006.

Five years ago today, September 16, 2006 David Grimes or "P-Nut" as he was commonly referred to by his friends and group members life was taken abruptly in a tragic motorcycle accident in the curve between Delta and Chaffee, Missouri. Although he did not live without purpose; for "P-nut" had a dream.

His vision was simple, to form a riding group for motorcycle enthusiasts whose purpose was to gather as friends and brethren to ride together while raising money for the children who depend on St. Jude Children Hospital of Memphis.

His dream became reality when the group began with only 12 members in March of 2005 within Sandy's Toddle Inn; a family owned bar and grill in Chaffee, MO. The Toddle Inn continues to be the groups clubhouse in which meetings are held the second Saturday of every month.

"P-Nut's" dream for WarChild has grown into a non-profit Riding Group upwards of 130 members strong who are dedicated to supporting the children of St. Jude Hospital, and the Missouri Veteran's Home. Money is raised through selling WarChild RG original coloring books at $5 a piece along with the annual spring, and fall Poker runs. WarChild's big-ticket fundraiser "Rebel Yell" Rally is held annually, the first weekend in June out at the Friga Farms in between Chaffee and Oran, Missouri. The 2011 Rally was the 7th Annual Rebel Yell. It helped the group raise $13,280 which was hand delivered July 24, 2011 to St. Jude Children Hospital.

"The Poker Run"

The day has come, crisp and blue, Today we ride for the angels of St. Jude.

They awake in pain, not knowing why, not understanding how the world works.

To put the glitter back in their eyes,

Today we ride like angels on the devils edge,

Knowing our course is true and just.

Today is the Children's Day that we strive to help find the cure-BECAUSE WE MUST!

May angels fly at our wing tips and keep us safe to do this task.

Peaceful we are, though WarChild is our name, Knights on bikes is our aim.
