Public invited to Frisbee golf today
Wednesday, September 7, 2011
County Commissioner Jay Purcell and a group interested in installing a Frisbee golf course at Cape County Park North are inviting the public to play or watch a practice round tonight at the park. According to Purcell, who oversees the county's parks, the department is close to finalizing a proposal for a permanent course to present to county residents and the park board. Purcell and the group have been meeting for several months to discuss the proposal and work out how a course would not negatively affect other park activities and be aesthetically pleasing and safe, he said. Purcell said all player experience levels are welcome and that Frisbees and bottled water will be provided. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m.
