Police: Man rams Sikeston patrol car
Tuesday, July 12, 2011
SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Saturday night incident led to the ramming of a Sikeston Department of Public Safety Patrol vehicle.
At 7:40 p.m., officers were called to the 800 block of East Kathleen Street in reference to a disturbance. Apparently, an argument began between two people, one of whom pulled a knife, and eventually the disturbance involved four to five people.
A suspect, who police wouldn't name pending the filing of formal charges, reportedly then took off in his vehicle, which stalled at the intersection of Pine Street and Kathleen. An officer got out of his patrol vehicle and was approaching the suspect, whose vehicle then started.
As another officer was approaching in a separate DPS vehicle, that patrol car left the roadway, and the suspect vehicle then rammed it.
The suspect was removed from his vehicle and arrested. No injuries were reported.
