Cape Comic Con

This weekend Cape Girardeau will welcome a host of comic enthusiasts to the Osage Centre for the sixth annual Cape Comic Con. Starting today and running through Sunday, the annual event will feature vendors, tournaments, guest appearances and a costume contest.

Some of the special guests include Superman impersonator Alexander Rae, writer and illustrator Billy Tucci, and comic book artist Jeremy Haun. Others will also be making appearances.

In addition to the competitions, discussions and checking out the vendors' products, one of the highlights for the weekend will be Saturday's costume contest. Registration for the contest begins at 2 p.m. and the contest starts at 4. Tournament organizers have seen an increasing number of individuals participating in the contest over the last several years, with entries ranging from children to entire families.

Another bonus for the event is the low cost of admittance. A single day pass is only $5 and only $15 for the weekend. A three-day game pass is $15 as well. Single day family passes are also available for $15 for families bringing children and exceeding three people.

Cape Comic Con is the latest example of why Cape Girardeau is a wonderful place to hold festivals, conventions and many other types of events. We welcome comic fans from throughout the region and hope you enjoy your time in Cape Girardeau.
