Thursday, June 9, 2011

Cody Livesay capped an outstanding day in style Wednesday.

The outfielder went 4 for 4 with four RBIs in the Cape Girardeau Ford & Sons Post 63 American Legion baseball team's 12-2 seven-inning victory over the Charleston Senior Babe Ruth team at Capaha Field.

Livesay, who just concluded his senior year at Anna-Jonesboro (Ill.) High School, was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 42nd round of the draft Wednesday.

Ronnie Scott earned the win on the mound for Post 63. He struck out three and didn't walk a batter over five innings.

Jimmy Obermark, Andrew Williams and Brent Taylor all collected two hits, while Williams and Ross Moldenhauer both drove in two runs.

Post 63 improved to 5-4 and will return to action Saturday with a doubleheader at Metropolis, Ill.
