Marie E. Lowe, 86, of Jackson passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, at Chateau Girardeau Nursing Center in Cape Girardeau, where she resided the past several months.
She was born July 27, 1924, in Irondale, Mo., the only child of Rev. Jesse W. and Mattie M. Eichenberger Waller. She and James L. Lowe were married Oct. 13, 1945. He passed away July 13, 1998.
Marie and James resided in Potosi, Mo., many years. Marie worked 25 years at Brown Shoe Co., and they attended Breton Creek Baptist Church. They moved to Jackson in 1979.
Mourning her passing are three children, Phyllis (Ron) Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, Carolyn (David) Pierce of Festus, Mo., Dennis Lowe of Jackson; a "special sister," Darlene (Nixon) Fontana of Gulf Shores, Ala.; a dear cousin, Ruth Kite of Leadwood, Mo.; five grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Johnson, Brad (Teri) Johnson, Doug (Linda) Pierce, Natalie Pierce Turner and husband Andrew, nurse practitioner Angela Lowe Compton and husband Dr. Chris Compton; 12 great-grandchildren, Jack and June Johnson, Alexis and Blake Johnson, Austin and Alexandria Pierce, Nadia, Ruby, Alec, and Alfie Turner, Ana and Brock Compton; two stepgrandchildren, Aaron and Drake Seabaugh; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to time of service Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or Southeast Hospice.
