Flooding photography, coverage

I wanted to thank you for the excellent coverage of the flood. The photography, in particular, was the best available anywhere. The images of the overflowing Wappapello spillway were absolutely shocking to us. It is an area we know very well, having frequently walked the trails and watched the eagles' nests from the parking lot of the spillway.

When we learned that the water was running over the spillway, I imagined that it was running over the road, damaging it, and then running down to a small pond and from there on down to the river. I had no idea that there actually was a miniature Niagara Falls with the waters raging across, completely inundating this area. Neither could I have imagined the height of the water level. Only your pictures made us realize just how bad things are in that area as well as in all other areas.

My business was in danger of being flooded, but while it was a real danger, it never became a present one. I am so very grateful that Piggott was spared and feel deep sorrow for all the people who have lost all they have to the floods. I can honestly claim the sincerity of these feelings because I once lost my business to a fire.
