Birthright's support to women

The past few weeks Birthright of Cape Girardeau has had a media blitz promoting the center and our Super Shower held the day before Mother's Day. The community is to be applauded for their generous response. Baby items were brought in beforehand and on the day of the event helping to restock our shelves.

For 37 years we have taken pride in being available to the girl who finds herself in an unplanned pregnancy. Birthright will counsel and walk with her throughout the pregnancy and further. While we know there are three options when a woman finds out she is pregnant, we promote only two: parenting and adoption.

Parenting can be difficult for many girls but we strive to give our moms the help they need to be successful. With a baby to provide for, our moms often find themselves motivated to continue their education, which hopefully will lead to a good job. Making an adoption plan is very emotional, but can be a selfless gift. Adoptive parents wait long periods for a child to bring into their family, and the birth mother can choose to be a part of that relationship also.

Birthright believes it is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth and the right of every baby to be born. Thank you for supporting us with this mission.
