McCaskill's voting record

Sen. Claire McCaskill's recent editorial in the Southeast Missourian was an example of blatant hypocrisy. During the 2008 election McCaskill was candidate Obama's most enthusiastic cheerleader. Since President Obama was elected, McCaskill has been a faithful supporter of his agenda of tax and spend and an ever-increasing national debt. Under Obama and McCaskill the national debt has increased by $3.5 trillion.

McCaskill supported the auto and bank bailouts, the failed stimulus and the health care train wreck known as Obamacare. In recent weeks she again expressed her support for Obamacare by voting against an effort to repeal it.

After demonizing the tea party movement during the 2010 elections, McCaskill has discovered that she is, in fact, also for fiscal responsibility. She claims that fiscal responsibility has been the centerpiece of her Senate service "since the day I arrived."

I find it odd that McCaskill mentions four Republican senators that she is working with to solve the debt problem but doesn't mention any Democrats or President Obama. Perhaps McCaskill realizes that her party is not serious about the national debt and that she is hoping that Missourians will forget her voting record and will believe that she is now a deficit hawk. Politicians like McCaskill will not solve the problem of our national debt and deficits, they are the problem.
