Friday, April 22, 2011
Holocaust survivor Jerry Koenig will speak at a Holocaust Remembrance Program, beginning at noon Wednesday at Southeast Missouri State University University Center Ballroom. The discussion is open to interested students.
Koenig will talk about his experiences during the war as a child survivor hidden by a Polish Catholic family in their farmhouse, after he and his family faced deportation to the Treblinka death camp.
Koenig teaches the history and lessons of the Holocaust through the St. Louis Holocaust Museum and Learning Center.
