Cape Jr High takes multiple History Day awards

Twenty-seven students from Cape Central Junior High School (CJHS) participated in the regional National History Day contest at Southeast Missouri State University. Participants completed a research project that fit into the theme "Diplomacy and Debate: Successes, Failures and Consequences" and competed against students from all over the Southeast Missouri region in the Performance, Exhibit, Website and Documentary categories. Pictured above, left to right, are CJHS students Caroline Kurtz and Anissa Wiant, 3rd place winners in Group Website titled "Forced Human Sterilization"; Brooke Anderson, 3rd place winner in Individual Website titled "Color Coded"; Gabriela Vieira, 2nd place in Individual Website titled "Evolution on Trial", and Olivia Bess, 1st place in Individual Performance titled "The Wizard of Oz Allegory". The CJHS faculty advisor is Emily Goode, gifted student facilitator.
