Central Junior High mathematicians take trophies

The Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics grades 7-8 regional contests were held at 15 sites across the state of Missouri recently. The first, second, and third place winners in each of the individual contests and winners in the team competition will compete in the State Finals in Springfield on April 30, 2011. Central Junior High School (CJHS) students who competed at St. Vincent's School in Cape Girardeau this past weekend were Alex Gentle, Luke Kinder, Riley Knight, Clayton Monia, Samartha Shrestha, Tessa Valleroy, and Shane Wright. Pictured above, from the left, are Riley Knight, who placed 1st in the 7th grade division; Alex Gentle who placed 2nd in the 8th grade Algebra division, and Samartha Shrestha, who placed 6th in the 7th grade division.
