G.O.A.L.S. Camp- Global Outlook and Local Soccer

Cape Girardeau--CENET: Cultural Exchange Network will host a summer day camp for area students entering grades 2-8. G.O.A.L.S. Camp will be held at Southeast Missouri State University on July 11-14th. On Friday, July 15th, the campers will enjoy a field trip to visit the 1904 World's Fair Exhibit at the Missouri History Museum in St. Louis.

G.O.A.L.S. Camp will run daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The mornings will be dedicated to soccer training. Coaches include Lindsay Pickering, former Division I athlete turned Division I coach at Southeast Missouri State University, as well as a group of elite coaches from the area, and around the world.

The afternoons will emphasize global knowledge and cultural understanding through fun games and interactive activities. World facts, basic foreign language instruction, theatre and drama lessons, and geography will be a few of the many activities that will educate and equip local students with priceless global leadership skills.

Educators include Robyn Walker, Executive Director of CENET. Robyn has over 25 years of multicultural and bilingual educational experience. The camp staff offers an even blending of local and international instructors who will provide your child with an exciting, cross-cultural experience right here in Cape Girardeau.

CENET is local, non-profit organization that promotes international exchange. CENET facilitates an exchange program at Southeast Missouri State University, as well as universities across the country, and around the globe. International exchange for work-based internship and traineeship programs are also facilitated by CENET.

CENET's goal is to expand global understanding and leadership to the youth of Cape Girardeau and its surrounding areas. G.O.A.L.S. Camp offers local and international elite soccer coaches and qualified educators that will assist in creating an impactful experience for local students.

If you have a child with special needs, please contact CENET as there may be some limited availability. High school soccer coach and educator, Kerrie Katz, holds a Masters and Specialist degree with an emphasis in Special Education and Educational Administration. CENET may be able to make special arrangements for a limited number of students with special needs in order for them to attend the half day or full day camp.
