The Cape Central Junior High School Jazz Band recently traveled to Carbondale to perform at the 3rd Annual SIU-C Jazz Festival, where it received a Superior Rating as well as the "Most Outstanding Jr. High Jazz Band" award. In February, the jazz band also received a "Superior" rating at Southeast Missouri State's Phi Mu Alpha Jazz Festival. Last week, the jazz band performed at the Cape Lion's Club Annual Pancake Day at the Arena Building. Cape Central Junior High School Band Director Josh Lamar said, "It has been a pleasure working with the top instrumental musicians at Central Junior High School. It's great to see the band students receive recognition for all of their hard work."

Way to go CJHS Jazz Band! Even though I have heard you several times, I am still amazed each time by your great sound! You guys rock!
