"The community improvement I would most like to see in the next five years involves continued growth opportunities centered around those we have recently witnessed. City leaders and citizens alike have wonderfully demonstrated their commitment toward the increase of quality services, programs and opportunities for all ages. Continued development that involves learning and looking toward the future, as well as embracing our city's past, is my hope. The River Campus, Discovery Playhouse and enhancement of our public schools all serve as fine examples from which to grow. As the old adage goes, schools are only as strong as their community, and a community is only as strong as its schools. What a great time to live in Cape Girardeau!"
