Who's Who 2011: Julia Unnerstall

Unnerstall is involved with the Cape Schools Foundation Board, Junior Achievement Board, Cape Girardeau Historical Association, Southeast Missouri Hospital Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, Cape Central Boosters, Cape Central Football Mom's Club, and St. Vincent's Church. She works as a counselor at Alma Schrader Elementary School, where she has been instrumental in promoting the democratic process. Julia was recognized by the American Legion as an Educator of the Year for her efforts in promoting patriotism in our youth. Unnerstall and the Alma Schrader Character Council were recognized by THRIVE for efforts in promoting peer mentoring and a developing a recycling program within the school. Her work with the Character Council was recognized in October 2010 in San Francisco, at a convention of the National Character Education Foundation.
