SIKESTON, Mo. -- Two people are in jail after officers reportedly located a methamphetamine lab in a Sikeston home.
Eric S. Woods, 33, of Sikeston and Bonnie J. Woods, 31, of Sturdivant, Mo., are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine precursors, possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child, according to Sgt. Jim McMillen, public information officer for Sikeston Department of Public Safety.
McMillen said an ongoing investigation by the department and the SEMO Drug Task Force led to a warrant being served by Sikeston's Special Operations Group around 11:20 a.m. Friday at a home in the 400 block of Dorothy Street. When they arrived, officers made contact with Eric Woods and Bonnie Woods, who appeared to be under the influence.
Police located methamphetamine precursors, an active methamphetamine lab and a small amount of finished product inside the home. Two children were also inside the home during the search.
Eric Woods and Bonnie Woods were each given a $75,000 cash-only bond and remain in custody at the Scott County Jail, where they are awaiting arraignment.
