Punish the Deed not the Breed

Pitbulls are amazing animals that are to commonly misunderstood and judged wrongly. They have been labeled as a dangerous and un-trustable dog, but in reality it is the dogs' owner who is responsible for the dog's actions. Just like a child, how the dog is raised is going to affect the way the dogs acts. If the dog is raised properly the pitbull makes an amazing family pet and are one of the most loyal animals a person can have. The irresponsible pet owners who train their pitbulls to be aggressive or mean, are the people who inadvertently helped the dog obtain its bad name by dog fighting and using them in gangs. I have pitbulls and we go to the park quite often. In many situations people have come up to my dogs and was petting and playing with them. Then the question arose, What kind of dog is this? When I said pitbull, I thought they were going to have an anxiety attack. People are very judgmental when it comes to pitbulls. Apparently they need to do some research on the breed itself. It is a proven fact that for every pitbull that harms or kills there are 10.5 million that don't. The pitbull breed is a breed that loves to please its owner and tries to become what ever kind of dog its owner desires.

Back in the day pitbulls used to be considered American heros. They were used in the wars to distract the enemies while the American soldiers swarmed in. Many pitbulls are also used in search and rescue teams. For instance, during a flood in southern California "Weela" (a pitbull), saved 30 people, 29 dogs, 13 horses, and a cat. Not to mention many of the dogs in movies that are loved by all are normally pitbulls. For instance, "Petey" on the little rascals is a pitbull. There are many other facts that can prove just how amazing and how great of a family pet pitbulls really are. For more information go to www.dontbullymybreed.org.
