Cape Central High School senior Caleb Coots recently signed with the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, swim team. Pictured above, left to right, are CHS Swim Coach Dayna Powell, Gators Head Coach Steven Franklin, Coots, and CHS Assistant Swim Coach Chad Sierman. Coots is the son of Mark and Lora Coots. He qualified for State in all four years of his career at Cape Central High, and was All-State in the 500 Freestyle. He broke the school's fourteen year record in the 200 IM and the eleven year record in the 100 Fly. Coots is also an Academic All American. "Caleb had an outstanding career at Cape Central. He has been a huge part of our success and his leadership will be missed," said Coach Powell.
