Man arrested in Tuesday KFC robbery

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Police arrested a man following an armed robbery Tuesday night at KFC at 2101 William St. A man walked into the restaurant around 8:30 p.m., displayed a gun and demanded cash, Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jason Selzer said. Employees gave the man the cash, and he ran out of the restaurant, Selzer said. Police followed a vehicle the man reportedly was driving to a field, where it got stuck in mud. The suspect ran until officers caught him, Selzer said.

The suspect was identified by restaurant employees, and the gun was found, Selzer said. Police believe the cash has been recovered. The suspect's name was not being released.

He should have ordered the 3 piece special.

with gas prices at nearly $3.50 and all products on the rise as a result, coupled with few jobs and fewer that pay enough to provide for a family, is it any surprise that crime is on the rise? hold on to your pocket books and lock your doors, the worst is yet to come.

A three piece special from KFC? I'd take my chances on armed robery!

the employees recognized him! hahahaha

You are right "ManleyPointer", "the worst is yet to come". With 2 more years of Obama as President, yes, the worse is yet to come. Replace him in 2013 with a good conservative man and then things will turn around. At the same time a bunch of liberals in the house and senate must be given the boot. Elect some more Tea Party people and finally we will get the United States headed in the right direction.

Tea Party people??? Really? No Thanks! What a bunch of redneck crazy @#$%&s!

PeggySue, define "redneck" please! I wonder if you even know the real definition!

How did an armed robbery turn into a political discussion about liberals, conservatives, and tea party members? On another completely unrelated note, vote against the smoking ban.

There. That should take this into another left hand turn. Enjoy.

I would say it had nothing to do with gas prices or jobs. I would say it all started with a bad structure at home as a child and/or a fatherless home and no education pass high school.

This little neck of the woods is about as Conservative as they come. We got all the answers and not the lick of sense to back it up.

How may times is this KFC going to get robbed? I think it needs to be shut down for employee safety or they need to get a camera system that can see you like they use at white castle or even a security guard!

Well said cadillacman

That's all mo_ky_fellow comments about - if you look at all his posts, the general pattern is to blame everything on the president. I would imagine that he blames today's rain on the president. The fellow has no clue about constitutional law and I doubt he would even pass the 8th grade constitution test. I don't know what his beef is with the president - it's sounding more and more to me like this fellow is a racist.
