Student places first at district science fair

Justin Sinn, a student at Nell Holcomb School, won first place at his district science fair for a project on the difference between treated and untreated soybeans. The eighth-grader and his father planted 120 rows of soybeans -- 60 rows each of treated and untreated beans -- May 17. The soybeans were fertilized and later harvested. The experiment's results showed that the treated seed produced better results than the untreated seed.
