'Art for the Heath of It' Exhibit Opens

The 2011 "Art for the Health of It" exhibit opened with a reception and awards ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 20. Pictured from left: Joyce Miller of SoutheastHEALTH; Amy Pool, executive director of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri; Barbara Ross, artist, Best of Show award winner; Craig Thomas, artist/muralist, Juror's Award winner; David Hammond, artist, Juror's Award winner; Donna Strup, artist/art educator, Juror's Award winner; and Dr. Ann Gifford, who chairs the Arts Council. SoutheastHEALTH and the Arts Council sponsor the exhibit. The winning entries are among nearly 50 pieces of art displayed in the hallway outside Southeast Hospital's Surgical Waiting Room. The artwork, most of which is for sale, will remain on display through April 28.
