Derrell Chapman, 64, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., and Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
He was born May 8, 1946, in Vanduser, Mo., to the late Eugene and Ruby Mills Chapman.
Chapman was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a retired truck driver with Roadway Trucking and a member of Blodgett Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Chapman of Evansville, Darren Chapman of Sikeston; five grandchildren, Nick Hughes, Austin and MacKenzie Chapman, all of Evansville, Gaven and Jacob Chapman of Sikeston.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mitchell Jackson, pastor of Miner Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors.
