Carol V. Rudert, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Aug. 14, 1915, in St. Louis, to Otto and Jessie Vieten Witte. She and Harold J. Rudert were married May 17, 1936, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death June 16, 1974.
Rudert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an officer and active member of PTL at Trinity Lutheran School. She belonged to the Tuesday Club (GFWC) and loved to square dance and play bridge.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Miller, Patricia Boyd and husband Butch, all of Cape Girardeau, Jane McMahan and husband Ken of Sarasota, Fla.; a son-in-law, Chester Hayes and wife Cathy of Kimberling City, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Steven Miller and wife Sharon, Mark Miller and wife Shannon, Paul Boyd and wife DeeDee, Michael Boyd and wife Elizabeth, David Hayes and wife Angelia, Todd Hayes and wife Wendy, Zachary McMahan and wife Desiree, Linda Hanebrink, Janet Varnon and husband Tony; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Marcia Hayes; and a great-grandson, Jacob Boyd.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Burgell officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran School Building Fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
