Wilfredo Colon, affectionately known as "Duck," 55, of Coldwater, Miss., died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was formerly of Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 25, 1955, in Essex, Mo., to the late Wilfred and Louise Ayers Colon Sr. He and Francine Sandridge were married Oct. 21, 2000.
Colon worked for General Sign Co., KBSI-TV Fox 23, and Procter & Gamble, until his illness caused him to be disabled. He was of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Willie (Tiffany) Colon and Armando Colon of St. Louis; a daughter, Nicole (Demiris) Payton of Atlanta, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Crystal Sandridge of Cape Girardeau, Lawanda Sandridge-Williams of St. Louis; two brothers, James Belle of Blackjack, Mo., Michael Colon of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Brenda Newbern and Patricia Colon of Cape Girardeau, Mary Lee of Gosnell, Ark., Cynthia Colon of San Bernardino, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. The pastor, the Rev. Johnny Thomas, will officiate. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
