Tuesday, December 7, 2010

An 80-year-old Missouri man is ready for graduate school after finishing his bachelor's degree.

Charles Vandegriffe of O'Fallon completed his coursework online and will graduate this month with an undergraduate degree in general studies from Southeast Missouri State University.

He said that earning the degree gave him the opportunity to learn and exercise his brain.

The university said Vandegriffe had long wanted to earn a second degree. He also holds an associate degree from St. Louis University in business administration.
