Penzel Construction Co. Inc. of Jackson was awarded a $248,727 contract Wednesday for improvements to Highway 51 in Bollinger County by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. The project includes replacing the bridge over East Fork Longs Creek near Patton, Mo. The new bridge will be 25 feet wide. Construction could begin as early as January, weather permitting. As work is underway, the road will remain closed. Detour routes will be posted. Drivers are urged to plan for possible delays. MoDOT will alert drivers before any change in traffic. Completion is anticipated in summer.
