Forty-seven years ago, Central High School students gathered around a black and white TV hastily set up in the gym to watch the news of the Kennedy assassination unfold.


An hour later, I was rushing to The Missourian with photos for my first EXTRA edition.

I was only six years old at the time. But...is that Mrs. Towse I see on the far left??

My Dad was at CHS the day this was announced. He said he always thought how rude it was that some students cheered when it was announced. Bet they wont admit to that now.
