New Young Child Exhibit at the Children's Museum

Employees of Procter and Gamble officially open the exhibit with a ribbon cutting.

"Pollywog Pond", an exhibit designed for young children, opened at Discovery Playhouse on Saturday, November 6th.

The exhibit, sponsored by Procter and Gamble, has a focus on early childhood education. The "Pollywog Pond" environment simulates water and grass using plush blue and green carpet.

While there is no actual water in this exhibit to play with, the Museum's youngest guests can hop aboard a little boat, grab a rod and fish using magnetic fishing poles. "I wanted to create an area for the new crawlers and walkers, that was just for them. It is place where parents can play with their small children and socialize with other parents," said Jennifer Mullix, Executive Director of Discovery Playhouse. "Our friends at Procter and Gamble were excited to sponsor this exhibit because it aligns with their Live, Learn and Thrive initiative."

Other activities in the exhibit include a color-sort rainbow, activity bridge, pretend picnic area, flower planting and literacy chalk wall.

In celebration of the exhibit's grand opening, November as been designated as "P&G Employee Appreciation Month" at Discovery Playhouse. Employees will receive discount benefits towards admission and the purchase of annual memberships.
