An independent can win

Can an underdog independent congressional candidate win a general election? Actually, it has happened before in the 8th District. Fourteen years ago, Jo Ann Emerson, during a difficult time in her life, apparently concluded she was better qualified than either major party candidate. She went through the independent candidate petition process, similar to what we did, and she won.

Fast-forward to 2010. After studying the major party candidates, I too concluded that my life experiences of growing up on a farm in Cape Girardeau County, serving in the military as a pilot and running a local business for 17 years would qualify me for congressional service. I hoped to give those who self-identify as pro-life, pro-Constitution, conservative independent voters a choice.

I will not support a Democrat for speaker of the House. The Obama agenda must be stopped. We need a conservative speaker to lead the House of Representatives.

Let's make history again. Help another David stand up to the two Goliath parties.

Thank you for your consideration and interest in our campaign,

Lt. Col. Lawrence David Bill, USAF (Retired), independent candidate for Congress, 8th District, Missouri
