When this last stretch is paved, the northern addition of the Cape LaCroix Recreational Trail will be finished. Workers said it should be done in about two weeks, Lord willin' and the creeks don't rise (take that literally).

For a sneak peek of what the trail looks like, go to

This will allow walkers, runners and bikers a clear path from South Cape all the way to the Conservation Nature Trails. (Unfortunately, bikes are banned on the nature trail, but there is a bike rack at the trailhead.)

Is that downtown in the redstar district if not where

capeguy30,

The new section starts near the intersection of Kingsway Drive and Lexington on the northwest side of town. It end ups up at a nature trail at the County Park on Highway 61 across from the Memorial Park Cemetery.

You must be thinking of the trail that leads north along the Mississippi River from downtown that deadends at the creek near what used to be called Honker's Boat Dock.
