Sowers will fight for jobs

Jo Ann Emerson has tried telling us the bank bailouts she voted for are good for Southeast Missouri, but nothing could be further from the truth. The TARP bill rewarded bankers for irresponsible behavior and left us with the check.

Now the big banks have taken our money and moved on. While rural America struggles with unemployment, pay and bonuses on Wall Street just reached a record high of $144 billion. Our representative has succeeded in getting big banks up and running, but she's forgotten about us back home.

It's not surprising Emerson keeps voting for Wall Street and against us. She's been in Congress for 14 years, and she takes almost half her campaign money from special interest PACs. That's who she has in mind when she casts her votes.

Congresswoman Emerson just isn't the kind of leader we need. It's time to send someone better to D.C. Tommy Sowers will fight for our jobs, not for Wall Street bonuses. He deserves your vote on Nov. 2.
