It didn't look good for the Zalma volleyball team after it dropped the opening game to Leopold 25-8 at Friday's Mississippi Valley Conference tournament.
But the Bulldogs refused to wilt.
Zalma rallied to win the next two games 25-22, 25-16 and claim the conference title.
Emily Merick had four aces, while Krista Clark had seven digs in the win.
Laurie VanGennip had five digs and five kills, while Tori VanGennip added 20 assists.
Lesta Newberry had 10 kills and three blocks, and Angela Dickinson added five kills for Zalma.
Meadow Heights took third place by defeating Greenville 25-12, 25-18.
Whitney Welker had seven kills for the Panthers.
Heather Dietiker and Jillian Mills both recorded five kills, while Gina Cureton added four in the win.
Jordan Hoff had 19 digs and four kills in a home loss for the Crusaders.
Lacey Hemmann had six assists, while Sam Babcock added nine digs.
Courtney Bergman chipped in three kills for Saxony Lutheran (10-13-3).
JV -- Lesterville won 17-25, 25-23, 25-22.
Bloomfield defeated Bernie 25-20, 25-23 to capture the title.
Dexter knocked off Bell City 25-18, 18-25, 25-20 to take third place.
Heather Wiseman recorded four aces and eight assists in a home win.
Lyndse Hamby had eight kills and five digs, while Megan Woodall added six assists and five digs for the Eagles.
Tylar Kennedy had four kills and Emily Riehn finished with three digs as Eagle Ridge improved to 12-7.
JV -- Eagle Ridge won 25-12, 25-21.
Gus Klaus scored a pair of goals to lead the Crusaders to victory.
Logan Sprandel added a goal and an assist, while Taylor Johnson had two assists.
