Thursday, October 14, 2010
SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Transportation's Safe and Sound Bridge Improvement Program includes plans to improve 25 bridges throughout Stoddard County. To date, 12 bridges in the county have been repaired or replaced and are open to traffic. The Highway 114 bridge and the Route Y bridge at the Scott and Stoddard County line have opened, while the Route BB bridge at the Bollinger and Stoddard County line and the Route P bridge over Drainage Ditch No. 33 are expected to open this week. Work to replace the second Highway 114 bridge near County Road 725 is scheduled after the majority of agricultural work in the area has been completed.
