Fire in Cape County considered suspicious
Friday, October 8, 2010
The Cape Girardeau Sheriff's Department is considering a Thursday morning fire at an abandoned mobile home suspicious, according to Lt. David James. The fire occurred on County Road 420. A storage shed was also destroyed. "There was no electrical to the house, which means its got to be someone's hand that caused it," James said. James said the North County fire chief told him that the owner of the abandoned mobile home and shed has reported problems with theft at the location. The owner said items had been previously been taken from the mobile home and the cars surrounding the mobile home. The sheriff's office will continue to investigate the incident.
