KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A woman has filed a lawsuit claiming two former Missouri priests sexually abused her when she was a teenager in the 1970s. A 49-year-old woman listed only as Jane Doe filed the lawsuit Friday in Jackson County Circuit Court. She claims the abused started when she was 17 and that she suppressed the memory until last year. The lawsuit names the Kansas City Diocese and Thomas Cronin and John R. Tulipana as defendants. The lawsuit claims that Cronin and Tulipana abused the girl at a youth retreat near Maryville. The Kansas City Star reported that a man who identified himself as Cronin declined to comment. Tulipana could not be reached. The diocese said it has not been able to confirm the accuser's identity and can't comment on the substance of the complaints.
