Letter to the Editor

Make difference by voting Nov. 2

Over the next couple of weeks, the Democratic leadership, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, will seek to force their liberal agenda on citizens of the United States through back-door legislative action.

In the Senate, Reid is planning to push legislation attached to the Defense Authorization Bill that would provide illegal immigrants a path to citizenship, allowing them to jump ahead of millions waiting to enter our county legally. More relevant to the defense authorization, Reid also expects to vote on language that would repeal the Pentagon's "don't ask, don't tell" policy that bans openly gay individuals from the military. Finally you have the Burris (Obama's replacement) amendment that would undo restrictions in place on abortions at military hospitals.

While Reid and Pelosi seek to impose these far-left liberal changes on our nation for personal political gain, politicizing our national security is not in the best interest of our nation, in particular on contentious issues that change the fabric of our nation where we should expect our legislators to have a straight up-or-down vote.

The three issues are perfect examples of the kind of change President Obama, Reid and Pelosi have sought that redirect the values of our great nation. Nov. 2 we all have the opportunity to make a difference. Please vote.
