Larry Alan Ikerman, 64, of Delta passed away at his home Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010.
He was born July 19, 1946, in Delta, son of Virgle and Edna Hodge Ikerman.
Larry attended Delta High School, and entered the U.S. Air Force April 22, 1965. He was a veteran of Vietnam, having been stationed at Da Nang AFB. While there he attained the rank of staff sergeant before being honorably discharged Feb. 10, 1969.
He worked 24 years in the warehouse at Procter & Gamble, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden and doing genealogy research.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Marie (Eric) Smith of Jackson, Amy (Mike) Nilsen of Advance, Mo.; a son, Alan (Michelle) Ikerman of Whitewater; three brothers, Donald Ikerman of Perryville, Mo., Jerry Ikerman of Florissant, Mo., Delbert (Georgia) Ikerman of Benton, Mo.; two sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Barlow and Nora (Tim) Johnston of Delta; five grandchildren, Alexis Voshage, Jacob Smith and Gwyneth, Julia and Hannah Ikerman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patsy Dowdy.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
