Jo Ann Emerson announced this morning that she has accepted the offer of Missouri Science and Technology to host a debate this October in the race for the Eighth Congressional District seat.

"I'm very glad Missouri S&T will be a part of the important discussion we need to have with voters on the issues facing Southern Missouri. I look forward to the debate and to the opportunity to engage my opponents on the economy, health care, energy, agriculture, and other issues which affect us here at home. We have an important decision to make about the direction of our country, and this election will determine the makeup of the Congress," said Emerson.

Missouri S&T will host the third October debate in the Eighth Congressional District. All three debates Jo Ann Emerson proposed have recieved offers to host from academic institutions, and three of the four candidates for the congressional seat have accepted the challenge.

October 11 -- Southeast Missouri State University (Cape Girardeau)

October 13 -- Three Rivers Community College (Poplar Bluff)

October 17 -- Missouri S&T (Rolla)

The debate in Rolla will take place on October 17 at Missouri S&T.

Why wouldn't she dabate Bob Parker. I find that strange.

Emerson knew she could not debate me. I know way too much about her record and she knows I am not afraid to talk about it.

She ran a brilliant campaign, no primary debates, never mention my name. She has the mainstream media under control as they never mentioned me. She had told supporters my polling was at 8%.

I have congratulated her on an excellent campaign.

It will get her re-elected, but will it serve the people? People before politics? I think not.

Only a true conservative can beat her.

How utterly preposterous that this incumbent, who is clearly afraid of any idea that challenges the established paradigm, can engage in anything remotely like a "debate."
