Sikeston Tea Party Takes a Stand

We in the Sikeston Tea Party are a group of regular citizens who are tired of all the games in Washington.

We are standing behind candidates who are fresh and dedicated to helping our country get back to what our founders invisioned for us.

Bob Parker electbobparker.com Bob is a true conservative who wants to help us with this effort. He is pro life, pro gun, and is in step with the people of this district.

He is running against Jo Ann Emerson in the 8th Congressional Dist. who in our opinion, has been in Washington for so long that she has completly lost touch with her constituents.

We tried for months to get her to come for an open forum to answer questions with no success. We then tried to have a town hall with her. We were refused repeatedly. We were under the impression that as her constituents we had the right to expect her to explain her voting record!

One example is her vote FOR Embryonic Stem Cell Research, vote #2005-204 May 24, 2005. She also voted for Cash for Clunkers, Spening Bills, and to bail out GM and Chrysler.

Is this the person we want to be OUR representative. I for one say that she does not represent me in any way

Did you all vote to endorse Bob? If so where are the minutes for that meeting and what was the vote? Pam, you and Rick can cry on each other's shoulders Tuesday night after Bob gets crushed by the conservative voters of this district.

That's right Vandeven. I'm a tea partier and I believe the sikeston tea party is a joke; similar to your candidacyfor congress.

Hooray for the author of the letter, who doesn't do any name calling.

Some tea parties haven't gotten into endorsement activity. The lack of uniformity in the tea party movement certainly seems to be unhinging some people. Hard to do battle with an undefined foe, I guess.

Personally, I would prefer to endorse some of the great ideas...Constitutionally limited government! Balanced budgets! Free markets! TERM LIMITS! That last one is my favorite.

I don't think the incumbent is for any of those things.

I suspected that you might be the recipient of some goodies that the incumbent doles out to Big Ag.

The scope of the influence that the incumbent has with the powerful positions that she holds on various Big Ag committees and sub-committes is amazing.

There was a time in this country when the farmers were on the front lines of the revolutions to bring about political change. It is sad that so many of you have been reduced to the equivilant of sharecroppers.
