Performing arts

More than 90 performances have been scheduled for the 2010-2011 season at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus. Season ticket sales are well underway. Ellen Farrow, box office manager, recommends that anyone interested in a package of tickets make their purchases before single-event tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. July 14.

For anyone interested in season tickets or packages of tickets, there are plenty of options. The River Campus offerings include touring series, a symphony series and a theater/dance series. A master series that includes reserved seats for all three -- touring, symphony and theater/dance -- also is available.

In addition, the River Campus has a jazz series and two special events that are not part of a series: a staged reading of "A Christmas Carol" and "Church Basement Ladies 2: A Second Helping."

The university has for many years brought theater, music, dance and other performances to Cape Girardeau. With the River Campus for the Performing and Visual Arts, those events have greatly expanded. Plus, the performing spaces at the River Campus are state-of-the-art, resulting in a much more pleasant experience for audiences.

The River Campus has delivered on its promise of more, better and bigger.
