Sowers lied about Emerson

Tommy Sowers neglected once again to check his facts and rushed to smear Jo Ann Emerson with accusations she supported the stimulus. He told voters that the billion-dollar Holcim plant in Ste. Genevieve (total -- 2,750 jobs) was a stimulus project. It's not the first time Sowers has lied about Emerson, and it won't be the last.

The great thing about the Internet is that you can see the misinformation in real-time. Sowers' staffer Dave Mitrani posted on a blog called ThinkProgress, "This kind of hypocrisy that [sic] won't happen if Sowers is in office!" It's ironic, but it is also manic, disturbing and downright delusional.

Sowers won't stand behind his attacks because he knows they aren't true and never were. He pretends it never happened and moves on to the next fib, fallacy or figment of his imagination. We have a name for people like that, and it isn't "Congressman."
