Women's boat trailering course offered

If you have access to boat, but haven't mastered the skills needed to assist with trailering and untrailering a boat, register for the Missouri Department of Conservation's "Discover Nature Women's Trailering a Boat" course to be held Friday, July 16th from 5:30 -- 9:00 p.m. at Perry County Lake in Perryville, Missouri.

Attendees will learn valuable skills such as backing up a trailer, assisting in unloading a boat, how to respond to a boating emergency, and how to drive your boat to safety. Learning these skills enables boaters to arrive at the boat ramp prepared and ready to properly communicate signals to their boating partners at the ramp. Failing to learn and practice these skills can put boaters and equipment in harm's way.

Join the Missouri Department of Conservation staff and learn all the basics so you will look like a professional at the boat ramp. During this hands-on course, participants will learn and have the opportunity to practice the necessary skills to safely back up a trailer and assist in loading and unloading a boat in a comfortable learning environment.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license. The course is free of charge and all materials and equipment will be provided at the boat ramp.

Discover Nature Women programs are designed to help women discover and explore nature, provide expert instruction and hands-on activities, and are available statewide.
