Cleda Helen Glueck, 93, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, at her home in Jackson.
She was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Illmo, Mo., daughter of Dan and Pauline Will Eifert. She married Charles Glueck on Dec. 24, 1936. He preceded her in death March 7, 2002.
Cleda was baptized and confirmed at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. She and her husband became members of St. Paul Lutheran Church when they moved to Jackson.
Cleda's joy was caring for her family and their home. She was an exceptional cook and gardener. Homemade apple fritters were her speciality. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and reading,
Loving survivors include three daughters, Joyce Bess of Germantown, Tenn., Jeaninne (Gary) Jones of Springfield, Mo., and Becky (Mark) Campbell of Jackson; two sisters, Mildred Uelsman and Elsie Eifert, both of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Jim (Lisa) Bess, Michael (Melanie) Bess and Julie Bess, all of Rockwall, Texas, Steven (Vanessa) Jones of Munford, Tenn., Tom (Kate) Jones of Overland Park, Kan., Gennifer (Chris) Mayes of Buford, Ga.; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
