Missouri goes back to its Southern roots Friday with Creole fiddler and accordionist Dennis Stroughmatt's return to Tunes at Twilight. Stroughmatt, who became intrigued with American French culture as a student at Southeast Missouri State University, played in the summer music series in 2008. Since 1999, he has been touring solo and with his band, Creole Stomp, throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. He is a featured speaker on the Missouri Humanities Council Program Bureau and is a touring master artist on the Mid-America Arts Alliance Artist Tour and Illinois Artist Tour. Stroughmatt will perform from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Common Pleas Courthouse gazebo.
