The Saxony Lutheran High School inaugural bowling team competed at the Missouri BPA High School State Championships at West County Lanes in suburban St. Louis on Saturday May 29th, 2010. The tournament field was made up of 24 teams from all over the state of Missouri. The Saxony team consisted of Alicia Petzoldt, Elizabeth Ward, Garrett Brewer, Josh Drury, Matt Stueve, and Shawn Hadler. They have been bowling as a team since March, and practiced at Main Street Lanes in Jackson.

Competition consisted of three regular team games, followed by sixteen baker games. Total pinfall and bonus pins on the day led to the Top 5 teams bowling stepladder for the $10,000 in scholarship funds. Baker style is when each bowler of the 5 person team, bowls two frames per game. The team won 8 of the 16 Baker style games, this is very fast pace format because they switched lanes after every game, the matches where determined by a seating of the teams from the first 3 game series. Saxony was in 23rd place after the first series and moved up one position to 22nd to finish the tournament. They all agreed it was a great experience and are very exited about returning next year.

The Glendale Falcons won the 2010 MO High School Championship.

The Missouri BPA and Pepsi Cola sponsor this event, which grew from 16 teams in the inaugural event to 24 in only a year's time. Teams qualify from their individual conferences to make the trip to this day-long exciting event.
