The record speaks for itself

The message is loud and clear -- Rep. Jo Ann Emerson has been a "friend" to the community banker since she was elected, and she is now serving her seventh full term.

Jo Ann understands the community bank environment and knows the role each bank plays in the community or region that it serves.

Jo Ann understands the challenges that the banking community faces, and she appreciates the needs of the customers who depend on the banks for loan requests to buy homes, cars, to start a business, buy a farm, a business and many other financial requests.

Jo Ann understands the role of the community bankers who serve in community development, civic improvements and industrial/economic growth and expansion.

Jo Ann understands and works to resolve community catastrophes and events similar to the tornado that struck Caruthersville, Mo., in April 2006. Her staff arrived the next day following this tornado. The recovery efforts began with Jo Ann coordinating all of the resources for immediate response from state and federal assistance. Jo Ann worked with the community bankers, mayor, community leaders and school officials to begin the rebuilding process.

Jo Ann understands and works with great success and has an outstanding record of achievement in support of the banking industry, agriculture, river ports and economic and community development for Southeast Missouri.

I have worked as a community banker since 1962.
